mentoring
The second mentoring session was filled with smiles and laughter. The session was led by a co-mentor and a few members shared their opinions on BB and how it will benefit the students in the future. I also thought that BB is doing great because for the first time student’s needs were taken care and were free to share their views on everything with certain people. Moreover, the session is fun since we can openly share and talk with the members. And I realized that it’s good to have an hour free from stress and relax our minds.
During the third session, we are asked to bring
laptops to learn new features of blogging and the session was
enlightening as I came to know more about blogging. Our mentor also
told us how we should accept criticism when we make our
post public. He also told us that there will be people who will like our post
and some who won’t. And I knew that we must be able to accept a few criticisms since
it will make us grow as a person.
The fourth session was again filled with smiles and
laughter and Esha and I hosted a session. We were excited because we took some
interesting questions to know more about our members. We also took this game
with the intention to bring ourselves closer. During the game or activity, it
was fun and I was able to know a few important things. Our mentor’s talk on
investment is one thing I will remember since it’s important we don’t waste
money but instead invest in to something important. Overall the session was light
and fun.
In the fifth session, we planned to go for a walk with a
motive to walk consciously. However, it rained and we are not able to go for
walk but we went to the college canteen to have a talk over a glass of Lassi. So
it’s important to have a plan B if plan A doesn’t work and plan b was fun. The
talk on walking meditation gave some insights into being aware even when walking. It’s like living every moment in which most of us fail.
In the sixth session, we finally went for a walk and our
co-mentor gave us instructions on how to go about it. The walk under the scorching sun was fun but I had
difficulty concentrating on walking because of the heat and I also felt funny.
However, I was able to bring was mind back and it was refreshing. Also, I
realize that you should not worry about what other people will think about you
instead you should choose peace over other people's opinions. The cold water
after the walk cooled down my heat thanks to madam Chador.
The seventh session was actually on learning how
to use interactive software called Parley ideas and it was good to know about
it because we live in the 21st-century world. As a teacher, we should be
well equipped with software like this to have an interactive sessions in the
future. While we are exploring about it we heard a siren for a mock drill and the
session ended with what we should and shouldn’t do if we are ever caught in
such situations.
